I let the girls sleep a little late today and then we headed towards San Francisco. Our one stop for the day was Muir Woods National Park. This is a beautiful forest of old growth redwoods, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. We had a nice time walking around the forest, and then we jumped in the car for what we thought would be a 6.5 hour drive to Bakersfield. Unfortunately, we sat in stop and go traffic for a couple of hours and didn't make it to our hotel until nearly 10 pm.

Tomorrow we'll visit the desert on our way to Arizona.
