Having arrived here at 4.30am after a particularly harrowing bus journey, I was not feeling too hot. The only seat left had been right at the front next to the driver and I assume by the fact that the conductor man had to sit on the floor between us meant that I had taken his seat. This position gave me a horrifying view of the night time drive on an unpaved mountain road and so combined with the bitter cold I had found it a little hard to sleep. (If you travel in South America, go to Argentina last as the comfy buses ruin you for the rest of the countries!)
Tupiza is a very small, rugged little town but I couldnīt tell you very much more about it as I came down with quite a bad flu and spent 4 days in bed reading and watching cable TV. I can tell you that the hotel was very nice though.

I got sick here too...
Interesting, when I swung through Tupiza in 2002 I came down with a major stomach flu and was sidelined for three days or so. That was the worst i've ever felt in my travels.
