We had many a long day driving in the car, well, 4x4 land cruiser is more like it. However, today was a great day in the car, full of sights to see.

We were driving along the Savannah Way, a dirt track, one lane in some spots, across Far North Queensland through to the Northern Territory.

There were gigantic vista views of the desert for miles and miles, lots of cattle around as there are no cattle fences surrounding any of the properties out there (it would be way to time consuming to keep them all up so if their property goes across the road they don't fence it, just the border between each person's land and the road will have a grate to keep the cattle from mixing), large and small floodways - one way paved bitumen along a built up track crossing rivers and streams some of which are a long way above the river bed below, they are here for the floods during the wet season.

The sunset on this night was amazing, as was the amount of animal life that was out, kangaroos, wallabies, too many birds to count.
