What a long ride! The trip itself took us about 11 1/2 hours , mainly due to construction and rain but it certainly was memorable. Putting everything in the car was like working on a gigantic puzzle but we managed to do it.
Both of us don't like Ohio. The state takes forever to get through and the people were so rude. We did have some strange encounters though. We saw pig snouts and a driving nun. Once we hit Indiana we were attacked by bipolar weather Gods who couldn't decide whether to pour buckets of rain on us or to let the sun shine. At one point we had sunny skies with rain pouring down on us. So strange.
I must say, Chicago has one of the most beautiful skylines I have ever seen. We also had a gorgeous sunset while we saw the outline of the skyscrapers. A Red sky with hues of orange and the vision of the John Hancock Building and Sears tower (it will never be called Willis tower) in the background is breathtaking.
We are at Bonnie's boyfriends place in Arlington Heights which is in the suburbs of Chicago. Tomorrow we will explore the city of Chicago with our native tour guide, Corey.
