Here we are in Takapuna a small town just outside
Auckland staying in our campervan.... Which is worryingly almost as big as rosie's room at cambridge!! The owners are lovely and have 2 dogs that we have already made friends with. I must admit that I am surprised we are in NZ at all after the grilling we got at customs!! Things that have to be approved through customer (where u are x-rayed off the plane too!!) include... Food, drink, wooden souveniers, walking boots, seeds, bees or bee keeping equipment, plants, garlic, untreated paper, tents amongst other stupid things. We also had to list our activities for the last 30 days including countries we had been, contact with animals and whether we had been to a slaughterhouse!!! But we got through eventually having proven that our walking boots didn't have any bees, mud or weevils in them :S.... Our stay in the Parnell in was nice and the campervan easy to pick up..After an ermmmmmm interesting drive over in the rain ( which made the journey feel a lot more like home!!!), the rain kept going for a large amount of the afternoon so we hung around in the van a bit before braving the elements and looking round the town. Sadly because of the weather a trip up the sky tower in
Auckland was a bit pointless as the top was in the clouds :S. But ah well there's quite a few big towers on this trip so I'm sure we will get up one of them. Another piece
of news, get excited people because the pitta pit is coming
to the UK!!!!! We went there today and it was pretty tasty!!! And no nuts so yay. Yet to have found the mythical pizza subway that we have heard so much about but the search continues!! Love to all xxxxx
