Couch Surfing Host: Lucy!

2/14 Today, Rachel and I arrived at Zion National Park. This is yet another beautiful park. What makes this park different from the others are its enormous cliff-faced mountains, tall peaks, waterfalls, and more abundant plant life. We took a quick hike because we plan on exploring more tomorrow. After we left Zion, we drove to a nearby town called Hurricane where we met our new couch surfing host, Lucy. Lucy is a 65 year old grandmother who is full of life. Last summer, she rode her bike, with a friend, from Washington (state) to New York in 90 days! If that is not inspirational, I don't know what is. She is also highly active in hiking, cross country skiing, and camping. This spring, she plans on backpacking down the Grand Canyon to camp. She is a really cool and friendly person and we are glad to have met her.

Today, Rachel and I took an amazing hike alongside cascading pools of water at Zion National Park. It was by far the best hike we have taken. In the evening, we had a long, plentiful meal with our gracious host, Lucy. Tomorrow, we leave for VEGAS!
