A hotel near the Grand Canyon

Rachel and I have been stalling for several days in Flagstaff and Sedona, waiting for good weather at the Grand Canyon. Today was that day! Rachel and I got up bright and early, packed the car, and headed out towards the Grand Canyon. It was 46 degrees and sunny :) We biked along the South Rim, stopping at every lookout point. It really is beautiful and vast. We hope to get a better look tomorrow when we hike down into the canyon. Tonight, we are staying at a Knights Inn, in a town called Williams.

Today, Rachel and I hiked down the Grand Canyon. Being in the canyon put the terrain in better perspective than viewing it from the rim. It was a lovely hike. If you ever visit the Grand canyon, you must hike down it at least a little ways to take it all in. After our hike, we drove to Lake Powell/Glen Canyon to camp. Lake Powell was formed after placing a dam in the river, which filled up the canyon with water. Although it is not entirely natural, it is still beautiful!
