Yee Haa! Canada, our first stop!  We spend our time exploring the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia with our friend Donna who we met whilst living in Mexico.  Donna had her 50th birthday whilst we were staying with her so we took a 4 day road trip around the spectacular mountains to celebrate.

We visited the Columbian Ice Fields and walked on a huge ice glacier.  The Rocky mountains were breathtaking.  Each road and corner we drove was stunning.  Snow caped mountains, icy blue lakes and streams with vast pine forests were a picture post card in every direction.

We visited Banff, a lovely town in the heart of the moutains.  It felt like Christmas even though it was August.

The area around Lethbridge where Donna lives is made up of vast yellow cornfields, straight long roads, wind farms and rattlesnakes!  The contrast of never ending dry praire and corn fields against the blue snow caped Rocky Mountains in the distance is an image we won't forget.

Thanks to Donna and her friends we had a wonderful and hilarious two weeks and was a brilliant start to a big trip.  Big thanks and hugs to Donna and her sister Mo for feeding us soo much food and especially for making the buffalo meat balls.
