On Sunday's we'd usually head into Slough High St... an overly ugly place to be...

Anita and I joked that we were the best looking people in all of Slough, excepting the beautiful Indian women and men living there, of course...
It really felt that way though... Like all the mutants of England moved to Slough... to breed a new mutant race...
The streets were teeming with the mutant breeders... we used to escape into the mall and to our favourite book store, a safe haven from the moaning droll masses...

Ottakar's Bookstore also had a coffee shop inside... so you could sit there and drink a nice cup of coffee while you perused a good book... oh how refined, darrrling!
Compared to everywhere else in Slough this was heaven...

As the Summer fades in England, so too do the cheerful faces...

The clothes begin to stack on and everyone slowly begins to whinge again...

The cold wasn't really something I was used to... the coldest it really
gets in Sydney is 12C... Not cold at all compared to a European
Winter...

But it wasn't Winter yet... and were were very glad of that...

We didn't want to be here for Winter at all...

So we decided to get away... save up our earnings and book some flights outta Europe...

Slowly a travel plan formulated and we soon booked tickets for South-East Asia...

The route we were to take was from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam up along
the coast to Hanoi... then down to Vientiane in Laos across to Chang
Mai in Northern Thailand and then curl around taking in Cambodia...

We bought all the books on these countries and settled in on our nights off to read about our new adventure destinations...
