Two of Anita's friends were soon hired to man the Second Unit craft service truck...
Rachel and Kirsty...
Pill-popping, all-night-raving, nonsense-blabbering Kiwi girls... very fun though...
and funny too... one late boring afternoon they decided to drop a couple of pills... and proceeded to blast Drum and Bass music from their truck... they got away with so much being on Second Unit... I guess the crew took a liking to them...
Anita and I kept up our professionalism and held ourselves in check until the weekends...
Anita and I spent most of our weekends in London...
She'd arrived in the UK six months earlier than I and had many Kiwi
friends already... I was soon accepted and her friends became my
friends too... Many crazy fun weekends were spent partying in the most
popular European city... We were earning a lot of cash on the film working long weeks and feeling the urge to splurge we'd go clubbing and
partying in some very nice venues...
We also went to the many opera's and play's at some of the grand theatre's in London... We saw Jerry Springer - The Opera, Guys and Dolls, The Lion King and Chicago...
Notting Hill Carnival came along and we roamed the streets drinking and dancing...we basically spent the whole weekend smashed and without sleep...
The carnival itself is an annual event that is led by members of the Carribean population...
They get all dressed up as costumed masqueraders and follow trucks blasting "Soca" and "Calypso" music as loud as the speakers will allow...
Earplugs are highly recommended...
Approximately 1 million people attend the Notting Hill Carnival each year... It's a lot of fun...
On the Sunday I randomly met a friend from my home town on the street...
What are the chances of that huh???
Bout one in a million... he he...
