Hello all: Rhodes was great! After once again being "hosed" on our trip from the airport to the hotel, our hotel was nicer than i expected. We had two rooms. We went for a walk after we checkedin to find the near by Catholic church. It was near by, and we actually found it. The 11:00 am. service was easy for us to make, even with the time change last night. (Here they put the clocks ahead one hour last night). The service this morning was presided over by a Franciscan. I had heard they were well educated. Very true. This priest was an englishman who conducted the service in Latin, Italian, French and English. I'm sure he knew German as well. After church we walked aroundthe town, eventually ended up in the old town behindthe walls of the old fortress. It was much cleaner than Crete, and again very interesting. Marusia finally enjoyed some baclava. (I took lots of photographs down by the harbour). We walked back to the hotel, got our luggage, and took a cab to the ferry).
I am doing this update while on the ferry! (Isn't technology amazing).
We will be late getting into kos tonight because the ferry had to wait 35 minutes for the arrival of a soccer team that had tickets for this ferry. (Soccer is BIG in Greece).
All the kids are fine. Marusia is a little tired.
With Turkey ahead, we are hoping to get the same type of weather we had today, hardly a cloud inthe sky, temp. about 16 c.
(We met an American couple on the plane flying to Rhodes, they are going to see the eclipse too).
Thats it for now.

Sunny Kos!
The first place I ever went in Greece was Kos. Loved the food and the beaches. So my recommendation is 'find a beach and build some sandcastles.' I remember in Aruba it was cloudy and even rained a little early on eclipse day. Don't panic if you see a few clouds mid-week -- they may blow away before the big event!
It's well above freezing here today, and sunny.
