Oh my goodness, there's no more T minus days. I could subject you all to an hourly countdown but I think you've endured enough for now.

So I'm up with the sparrows and feeling a bit of a mixture of emotions. On the one hand like a 5 year old on Christmas morning and on the other, like an intrepid traveller. Nevertheless, today will be spent rolling my clothes into cigar-like pieces, and probably unpacking and re-packing. And then it's only right that I domesticate my house slightly since I'm going to miss this domesticated bliss for a month.

But really the reason for this premature blog is to establish whether its as functionally friendly as it claims to be and whether my friends and family will be able to access it through Facebook, as I've explained can be done. My intention is to update it with stories and photos for the next month, at least on a daily basis. No doubt Ill have the usual check-ins en-route - as one does but I stand by what I say... If the silence from me becomes uncomfortably long, call the FBI!
