I haven't been able to make blog posts or work images like I would like because our battery set up has not been reliable at all. In Bangui it worked perfectly but in Bayanga it has been a total failure. It is the battery for sure. We borrowed a voltmeter from WWF and the Panel is working fine, the inverters are both fine, so it's the battery for sure. WWF tried charging it with their generator and it still doesn't work. Going to try one more thing tomorrow after that we will have to send money to Bangui and get another one shipped back which takes about a week and is very expensive so I hope this last ditch effort is successful.

It seems that most things happen here in extremes. At least that is the way it seems. 2 nights a go we had a Bat inside our house and the next morning we awoke to a subterranean eruption of ants in our house, kitchen, and yard. We are starting to get some furniture now. We have a table, 4 chairs, 1 of Aanae's small chairs, and Aanae's bed. As for the rest, who knows? We apparently left our can opener in Bangui and it is impossible to find one here.

Life here is more difficult in many ways than I imagined and so far easier than others. Just the process of having enough drinking water takes a lot of time. We are drinking 4 liters per day and boiling then cooling that much is a pain. But everyone is in very good health, no issues at all. The kids are having a great time and Aanae is picking up Sango already. I will try to make more detailed posts when I can having very limited access to the internet and battery power have made it difficult so far but I'm sure we will find away.
