We sat on the bus for four hours to Hoi Anh and poor Jesse was starting to get really worried about not having his rabies vaccination. When we arrived in Hoi Anh we decided to book into the An Phu hotel which was really beautiful and cost us a fraction of the normal price just as Mr. Pho promised. Then Jesse went on a mission to find a hospital and get the necessary shots for a potential rabies infection.......Upon arriving at Hoi Anh hospital it became clear that nobody spoke a word of english so he had to improvise and explain what happened in other ways. He held his hand in front of his face, made a barking noise and then a biting noise towards his hand. After doing this several times and showing an injecting motion to let them know what he needed, the message was eventually understood, after half an hour of sign language and barking, and they proceded to give him the first of a course of three injections needed. He was told he'd have to come back in a couple of days for the second shot and then a few days later for the third. Jesse and Ritchie then decided to extend their stay in Hoi Anh so Jesse could get the rest of his rabies injections.

After the couple of days required, Jesse went back for the second injection of the course and to his dismay none of the original staff that treated him were there and yet again, none spoke english. He then had to go through the motions of explaining that he'd been bitten by a dog, he needed injections, he'd already had the first shot a couple of days ago and was here for the second. After a lot more sign language and barking the message got through and he managed to get the rest of the treatment successfully whilst giving us the best laugh we'd had in ages! Sorry Jess!

Hoi Anh is great. The shops are brill here. Just got 2 pairs of leather boots made to fit where you can pick the type and colour of leather, type of toe, heel, height etc. The quality of the leather is great. Also had some gorgeous silk clothes tailor made. You could get a whole wardrobe for about two hundred euro. They make jeans and everything. Or if there's something you like in a magazine or whatever, just show them the picture and they'll make it to measure.

The bars and restaurants are good here too and we've over-indulged a bit since arriving. Went to an Indian restaurant which was lovely until yet another rat (Steve thinks it's the same one following us!!) ran down the wall and along a bench full of people, causing an unintended Mexican Wave and sent them all scarpering, hilarious.

Went to a bar and met up with Richie and Jesse, Mark, Jenny, Craig and Helen from England. Another night we all got onto the back of motorbike taxis and went to a late night disco bar. When we came out our trustee taxis were there waiting to bring us back to the hotel, if only that would happen at home!!
Anyway have to leave Hoi Anh and carry on down the country before our visas are up, Nha Trang here we come!
