Show trip route
We continued by Surfer's paradise. Very young town, with loads of bars and shops all along the beach, loads of nice cars with music blasting from the windows... it is a show by itself, just sitting down a looking at people showing off passing by. Must be a great spot to party. But we are just the two of us, so it was not what we were looking for. By that time, we received a text from Marine and Adrien who were in Byron bay one night earlier and decided to drive a bit more to see them. It was just "really really" surreal to meet on a rest area in Australia after travelling together in Belize and Yucatan six months ago! After working in Sydney for 3 months, they will go around Australia for 9 months driving Lucien, their cool camper-van. We had a good time, having dinner and drinking a bit too much wine!!
20.04.09: Today is the first of our four consecutive hangovers. We decided to visit Byron Bay, a nice little town. We walked on the coats, the beach and up to the most eastern Australian point. We took a picture with Mocca, their Koala teddy bear that they photograph everywhere (like the dwarves in "Amelie"!)
We walked all the steps to the lighthouse, a very big punishment after a heavy night. We went to the beach. The guys went swimming in the designated area (you have two red and yellow flags that you must stick to for the lifeguards to spot you). It was mad to see them swimming as the current were taking them sideways all the time! The night we initiated Marine and Adrien to barramundi and bassa on the BBQ!
PS: Bon anniv Fabiola and Happy 1st Bday, Abbie!
