I woke up early almost 5 am , jet-lagged and trying to kill time by reading my email, facebook and trying to write out and entry for travel pod. finally its 6.30 pm - breakfast looks great. This Holiday Inn Express serves bacon and scrambled eggs. We had a great breakfast and then start walking along Adderly Street. Now this is Africa- with lots of stalls and vendor selling souvenirs, vuvuzelas, and what nots.

We walk along Strand towards Avis. I see Budget, Hertz etc - I had to pick Avis which is right at the end of the street.Walking past the discount liquor is a group of blacks and they look menacing ( sorry dont mean to be racist) and I tell the kids to walk fast. We pick up the car , a beautiful white Toyota Corolla but its manual. Never mind Chung's a great driver.

Our first drive out is to Cape Point... On the way, we pass beautiful suburbs, the roads are excellent and the signages very clear ( when you live in Kuala Lumpur - you really appreciate good signages). We pass through Simons Town and it looks like a quaint like town and see a sign that says Penguin watching - and we stop.

Unlike Philips Island where you need to wait until sundown, and pay to sit at the beach, the penguins actually can be seen from the fence and in fact they just run out to the road..
