Leipzig was just whiff in the night. Checked in a hotel miles away from town , then attended the World Cup Draw which itself a star-gazing event for World Cup fans but as usual Asian broadcasters and clients get seats eons away. The highlight of the evening is really pre-Draw games that we get to play plus the impressive plugging by all the cities in Germany hosting the World Cup venues.

We left early the next morning and because Zak is anxious get back to his family in Munich, we all had to follow the early dawn "flight" to the train station. Being Malaysians,  flights, train , buses are always never on time and those who are extremely conservative practise, better safte than sorry and therefore he made us all wake up early and wait for the train half an hour earlier than the scheduled departure. However, half an hour in the cold winter morning can freeze your butt off. I was seating on metal chair imagining that I was getting a free Marie France treatment.

Anyway, we got into Munich and after registering for the conference at Hilton, I set off to the house I had rented in Lake Starnberger about half an hour away from Munich by train. No check-in counter or suave concierge here but a nice cosy house with all the trappings of a home in a very nice suburb. The other houses had Christmas lights up and decor in the garden. TV in Germany has not changed though - still all in German but now at least there's CNN and MTV.

Lake Starnberger , I found out later is a favourite place of Princess Sissy and there is an old hotel which she used stay. I took a nice little walk around the neighbourhood and even pictures of the Lake on one of the train stops to Munich.
