Second Day...

Breakfast at the Pensione was almost like lunch. Gorgeous views and a beautiful house that looks like I am in Disneyland or even in Green Gables. I half expect Anne to walk in but then our Japanese hostess with the mostest walks in and I remember that I am actually in Japan .

Mr Host was really kind to drive us to the trainstation, and we were off to Biel again. This time to take the second route from Biei back to Furano (ending at the Winery) i.e Biei Takushin-kan Course for another 500 yen. First stop is the Takushin -kan Gallery to see some beautiful photo shots of the area. Then more picture taking. Quite laid back and easy. Next stop is Shikisai Hill or Hill of Seasonal Flowers. A gigantic park of different flowers all in a row.
I can feel a sense of panic as we are told that we have only 30 minutes here .. WHAT !!!!  How can we cover so many flowers and take all the pictures in just 30 minutes . Somehow we did and I must say manage to get most of the flowers i.e the sunflowers  and more importantly the rows of different flowers . I took nearly 100 pictures that day , squatting, kneeling , inside the row of sunflowers, beside, outside whatever. It was crazy and would i recommend this tour for photo mad and flower mad people NOOOOO,

We went back to Biei and then had lunch there before we took our second tour on the Twinkle bus - Lavender , paying 1000 yen as it took us back to Furano. The whole tour takes about 3 hours and we were taken through some bumpy but beautiful scenery . First stop was Lavender East for scenes of Lavender in wide flat fields. What struck me that day was a group of senior citizens in wheel chairs who were given first class row to view the lavender. It was such a beautiful day and the rows of lavender were lovely and it was really nice to see that they were given priority and the best seats in the house. Its the little things like this that makes you feel good about people . I guess with all the yucky news today, doses of this little acts is really good chicken soup for the soul.

next stop was the winery. Not really into the guided tour but it was near our Pension and the surrounding area had some lovely scenery. so we then jump ship and did a little bit of exploring. Now that we were no longer limited by time, it was really photography galore..
More lavender shots with butterflies this time.

We walked right up to the Furano Wine House and had a nice western dinner and a glass of local wine. It was summer and so it was still bright as we walked back to our Pension. More lovely scenery and for one final view of the surrounding area. We finally retired , going through our pictures and more pictures. Final night at Furano and then back to Sapporo. God has been kind to us with the wonderful weather.
