The morning didnt look promising. Cloudy and darkish. The breakfast buffet spread at the hotel was surprisingly good. Needed help from Chai Hong as what goes with what.
First stop is the Osaka White castle. Chai Hong spooks me with a story who bumped into something in the evening. so we will visit in the morning. My research tells me of a memorial garden for this Lady Samurai who committed suicide...Could it be her? Flashes of Shutter that super duper scary Japanese comes into my head and I dismissed it immediately.
From the map, the whole area looks huge. I decide to skip the tour inside the castle. My knowledge of Japanese history is limited to the novel "shogun" a novel with some actual inspired events
The white castle is imposing with the green gardens and moat surrounding it. But the sky was not the brilliant blue. I am not going to get great pictures. The park was a rather nice with its plum trees and typical Japanese bonsai but colorless. just green and white with no colorful flowers to decorate the sides etc.
Its a hot day and after walking around the castle , we did find the cruise which was an open boat cruise. In this mid day sun - we decided to skip it and go shopping at the mall instead. The J.R station which we passed by yesterday as we walked to the Umeda Floating Garden seem impressive and we took the train there.
found out that it was actually Osaka Main Station, we walked , people watched and then finally decided to just take the train to the waterfront for the sunset. As we took the train, we could see the sun set amidst Osaka skyline, saw Universal studio from across and then finally stopped at the end and just walked to the water front. Lovely sunset, watched the ships passed and then osaka lit up. And then , we walked back to the MRT.
