We thought, that we should share our little adventure with you all back home, since you seemed rather worried about us....
You see, the thing was, we heard that Leonie is leaving South Island soon and going to take us on an adventure round the North for a bit....but, me and Monkey really enjoyyyed exploring here....and well, it was Monkeys idea, he thought it would be fun if we leaped out of her pocket and go sand boarding down these giant white dunes that where everywhere....i just wanted to build sand castles but monkey said i was being boring...to be honest, we were getting broed of listening to the stupid guide go on and on and on about all thhe wildlife..............and stuff....so personally, i blame him.
Monkey would like to add that we didnt plan on staying over night, as much fun as it was, we just got a bit distracted building sand castles and enjoying the sun..we realised it was starting to get dark, and the bus had left a while ago..so well, we just made the most of it! Harris went out and caught us a few fish for the night which were rather goood, although the oystercatchers were kinda jealous, but they seemed firendly enough:) we met up with a few black fronted terns who looked after us for the night, they were really kind, and told us all about their life...as..well, a bird i guess!..it was interesting all the same. anwyay, it was getting light, and we hadnt slept at all, but we knew we had to amke it back up the dune so we had some chance of being found the next day. We managed to get a flight over there by a very kind seagull who was heading that way anyway, so that saved our little legs for the time being! the sand was soft, but the sun was hot...we knew it wouldnt be long before we were home...but were sure that Leonie and evryone else would be worried...we must have fallen asleep somehow and woke up the next morning tucked up nice and warm in a very dark room. we later found ourselves back with Leonie, and what we earlier thought was a nice cosyy bed was actuly the insde of a rather small envelope...
but anyway, we are both safe and well now!, and looking foward to traveeling in a pocket again:),althoug...i would rather like to go back and see mr and mrs tern once more...and maybe thank that kind seagull for giving us a lift....what do you think Monkey?.......
