So i finally get chance to catch up on some travelpod writing!
Made it over to Rotorua today, eventually, after waiting a couple of hours for a bus....i had the wrong times:)
Lol....so Rotorua, im styaing here for 3 nights now, lots of hot pools and ...umm...stuff to visit! skyrides....and markets, and jsut sitting by the lake! Havent done much so far, been for a food shop and a wonder round the town, its rather spread out, with very little in one place, its kinda wired!
Hostel is nice, biggger than what im used to but im in a city now!
Thats all really! nothing much to report here yet but will keep you updated as soon as the planning starts!
Talk soon

Day 2...
Took a morning trip to the Geothermal area of Wai-O-Tapu...it was amazing! definaltey one of the highlights of my trip so far. We got to watch as the main geyser erupted and it was amazzing! the amount of water that aws forced out, and the thundering that came with it was incredible! We then moved on to the main park, where there were various different walks joining uop in a loop....the Champagne Pool in particular was stunning! The colours in it and everything about it just didnt seem real, it was so inspiring to paint! The whole experience was just amazing!
Then spent the afternooon in a hot tub sketchbooking:) followed by a trip to the local art galllery...not a bad life really!
Day 3....
This morning took a walk to Lake Rotorua, since we hadnt made it there yet! it looked great! sat and played cards for a while with my new traveller friend Daisy, watched a few helicopter and float plane tours taking off over the lake, with black swans in the foreground!
Then, made our way to the Museum and art gallery which was well worth it! I would tell you all the history....but ummm.....i cant quite remember it:P...there where some amazing dresses and paintings there though, for those of you who are interested in that stuff too:P lol....And finally, this evening, i went on a Mauri culture trip which was amazing! we were invited in to a Mauri village and family where we got to look around the houses and what the actual villages would ahve been like, after a bit...more.....history we sat down to some native dances and music before making our way to the most amazing dinner, of steamed vegetables and meats all cooked underground, along with stuffings....and sauces.....and, of course pudding! It was a great experience and one that I think that I would have really regretted if I'd missed it! Monkey and Harris also enjoyed it, although didnt make it out of my pocket, they were quite comfy with the view from there:)
Anyway, as for tomrow, I'm off to a place called Whakatane for one, maybe two nights, where I'll do a trip out to the volcanic white island for the day. I'll then make my way down the coast, stay the night in Gisbourne and meet up with Daisy again in Napier.
So ill keep in touch but enjoy the pics and video hopefully!
