Woke super early 4:30m and couldn't get back to sleep. Combination of uncomfortable bed, overtired, sore eyes etc etc. went down for breakfast around 6am, average breakfast but lovely fresh juices, carrot for Mike and guava for me. Picked up by cyclo and driven down to boat dock at 7am where we boarded our small boat and took off around 7:15am.

After an hour or so we came to the Vietnamese border building, where we all clambered out and waited inside for a while (guy on the boat had already collected our passports and visa applications). Bought snacks, changed money, and just hung around for about an hour till all the necessary border stuff was done then back on board and off we went again for only 15 mins or so. This stop was the Cambodian border, much more organised, we were given our passports again, lined up, got them stamped and back in the boat again. Was still quite a long way (nearly 2 hours I think) to Phnom Penh. Started to get quite hot inside the boat as well, most of the passengers ended up standing or sitting outside at the back of the boat, we filled in time reading, snoozing, staring out the window not a huge amount to look at).

Arrived in Phnom Penh finally and got off the boat to mild chaos, bags getting dumped, tuk tuk drivers clamouring for business. We loaded up our backpacks, and set off towards where I hoped our hotel was. Turned out to be pretty accurate, we walked about 800m and found the street (streets are numbered along the Sisowath Quay Rd) and the hotel is just down from the corner. Checked in, booked out bus tickets to Siem Reap, then showered and went out for a walk. Dropped off dirty washing, booked a quad bike tour for tomorrow. Found a great restaurant just around the corner, The Pepper Tree I think, where I had the best ever satay style chicken dish Char Kreung, and mojitos for $2! Yum, yum, yum.
