Got a taxi from hotel to airport, plane from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, picked up at airport by Arn from Active Thailand and our driver Eddie, drove to Tiger Kingdom for buffet lunch. Almost couldn't eat lunch, I was so excited to see the tigers up close (but have to wait till Wed for our visit with them). We then drove over an hour out of Chiang Mai to mountain area where we trekked for a few hours. This was pretty heavy going and at times Arn had to cut the vegetation with a machete as it ws covering the track. Passed several fruit farms and Arn picked us whatever tropical fruit they were growing to taste. Found our driver and drove to Royal PIng Garden Resort, our hotel for the next 2 nights. The place was deserted, we were the only guests staying there, so we had a special table set up right next to the pool for our dinners and breakfasts. Pretty tired and dirty, so early night for us.
