Flag of Switzerland  , Swiss Alps,
Sunday, May 9, 2010

Today was spent looking at  Locarno and Bellizona on Lake Maggiore and then going througn the alps to the final destination on to Chur. The city of  Chur is the the famous graubunden region of the alps close to St. Moritz. The area is very scenic and the city has many old and maintained buildings and churches, including the magnificent main cathedral, with lots of relics. The old city is full of great places where many pubs and restaurants and boutique shops are located. The area is a full season resort with skiing in winter.

Many pix will be downloaded for the next two days to document the last two weeks including more from Shanghai so feel free to go back to thaose entries to see what all has been seen during that period. Suffice it to say that much has been seen in the last 9 days, with the area of the Rhine deeply explored along with the fashionable town of Baden-Baden and then on to bern for multiple day trips by Swiss rail, the southeast corner of Lugano, Locarno and Bellinzona with the lakes of Switzerland, and now the alps of mid and northern east swiss countryside where jagged peaks, intermix with small villages with cows with bells on. Next will be on to Austria and then Munich before the east europe capitals of belin, Vienna, Budapest, Poland and the czech republic are seen. Stay tuned.....
