We caught the 8:00 am ferry to Paros and arrived a few hours after. We walked to a hostel that our book recommended although she was closed for the winter. So we walked to a hotel close by and a lady came to the door and we asked if she was open and she said she wasn't but would give us a room anyway, we just had to give her a few hours to clean up a room. When we returned she had made up the room with huge fresh roses in a vase and fancy folded towels with fresh flowers tucked into them. She also gave us the room with two balconies, it was so nice. Paros town was a little more lively than Ios and a lot of the shops and cafes were open. Our first day we wondered around and even got a little lost at one point because we were trying to avoid a few Greek guys who decided to follow us. We went grocery shopping and bought vegetables and feta to make Greek salads with because our room only had a refrigerator. Our second day we took a bus to a small town called Naoussa. There were a few shops to look in but the majority of the small fishing village was pretty quiet so we sat at the port and watched the tiny town go by. The bus rides are nice on these islands because we can just sit back and enjoy the gorgeous landscape and see a few tiny villages as we drive through them. We considered renting a scooter or quad but our money is running low and the busses are just so cheap. There really isn't a whole lot one can do on these islands in the winter months. It's hard to even find a place with a map of the town or island because the information offices are usually closed for the season. We wanted to go to Mykanos, another Cyclade island, but because it's low season there weren't any direct ferries and our days were running low so we decided to take a direct ferry to the island of Naxos instead.
