Today was an early start we headed over to the Whithaven Beach within half an hour. The beach is really beautiful, with the beach being made of 98% silica, the most in the world!! I got to swim in the water and spotted loads of coral reef and fish which was amazing. After we went cruising around the islands for a few hours we stopped off at a spot to go Scuba Diving wearing our sexy stingray costumes!!! We spent 45 minutes and in that time we saw some amazing fish, all in schools together, different sizes, colours, it was brilliant being able to submerse yourself within this different world, experiencing he sealife and its ecosystem, watching the fish feed off the coral. I was literally swimming right past different fish, really vibrant, interesting ones, enjoying the sensation of exploring another world. The coral reef was fantastic, various sizes, shapes, circular ones, furry coral, a multitude of colours, dark and light and so large. It was exhilirating to constantly see so much variation in the water, its hard to contemplate how much is down there until you are swimming in there. I can't wait for the Great Barrier Reef which is meant to be even better!! After having lunch and chilling out socialising with the rest of the group we did another scuba dive, however this one was much less successful, the water wasn't crystal clear but mirky and we spotted very little sea life, but it was still great to get in the water and cool down. As this was our last night on the boat together everyone got into party mode and it wasn't long before the goon was flowing (and Goon overboard!! although AJ retrieved it, what a legend), I got to drive the boat with Kove and got some cool photos and was DJ Lee chosing songs from my Walkman. Kove, Kenny, Steven, Shaz and Amber all did Snorkel bombs (where the person puts on a snorkel mask and gets someone to pour beer down the breathing tube), consuming Goon and Toohey!!! We then played party games, which took about 15 mins for Shaz to explain the rules to us noisy and wasted backpackers. We first played a game involving passing tennis balls from person to person, easy enough right? Except using our chins to pass it to each other. I was on Steven's team, which lost in the first game to Kove, 1-0 down. The next game got more intimate, we had to feed a piece of rope through each clothing of the person behind us. We won. 1-1. However for some reason the games ended prematurely. Everyone stayed out late and listening to some tunes. A great night was had by all.
