Day 70
Today I got up early to try and get lots of activities done. I went over to the Canterbury Museum, which was brilliant, there was a vast array of exhibits on display. There was a native NZ birds section, the body in Action section (a really cool interactive exhibit about how the body works e.g. you are able to test your sprint speed, lung capacity and balance). Other interesting exhibits included the 'transport' section which details the different types of transport in the history of NZ, and more interestingly the story of one of the most successful motocross drivers of all time (another point Keith and mum might find interesting, see the photos). Finally, one of the new exhibits on display was named the 'Antartic centre' documenting the expeditions made by men trying to conquer the north and south poles. The remainder of the day was spent walking around the Botanic gardens, which was nice especially with the great weather. On the way back I stopped off to finish off the Arts Centre, although I found it quite boring to be honest. Later on in the day I checked into my hostel; Stonehurst (only $19 per night, a bargain!!). I met a host of people all sitting down, drinking and chatting together. Will (from Gatwick) was the piano man, banging out some quality tunes, a-la super mario, disney and coldplay (i suppose the latter is ok, lol). We spent the evening in MIckey FIns (a nightclub) and another Irish bar. The people I met included: Andy, Janeen, Kareen, Gabrielle, Adrian, Carlos, Helen, Amy, Will and Jeremy. When we got back I went to bed at 4am.
Day 71
Today was not a greatly productive day, I got up at 12:45 and once we headed out the door it was already 2:30pm. We spent the day in the Botanic gardens playing frisbee and rugby with a mini ball. It was a great laugh, although that day I couldn't catch to save my life. After we popped into the museum and had a sprint competition (with Jeremy winning). In the evening we chilled and sat down in the lounge area, where I also met some more new people.
