Savannah:  The next day (Saturday, October 30), we got up early and went into town to make reservations for dinner.  Sounds kind of odd but this is how it is done at Lady & Sons, Paula Deen's restaurant in Savannah.  You stand in line at 9:30 in the morning and make your reservation.  Otherwise, I'm told it can be a two hour wait to eat.  We would just LOVE to have a business where people stand in line in the morning to make reservations to give you money for dinner.  :)   We got our 5:00 dinner reservations and decided to look around the town a little bit before going back to the RV.  Neat little town.  Not much open yet but I saw they had carriage ride tours of the city.  Coooollll.

Went back to the RV Park and waited for Larry & Shirley to arrive.  Since we were going to be in Savannah a short time, I suggested we take the 1-1/2 hour carriage ride tour.  We all went back into town and jumped on the carriage ride.  A lot of reference to the movies, "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" and "Forrest Gump".  All of the people in "Midnight.." are real people and are still alive, except for one.  If you've seen the movie, "Lady Chablis" was a great character that  stole the movie.  A memorable character.  We found out, "Lady Chablis" is a real person and still performing in Savannah.  We also saw the location of the the bench from "Forrest Gump", although the bench is no longer there, there are flowers where the bench use to be.  This was a great way to see the town.  I highly recommend it.  Oh, I also am loving Savannah.  Seems I'm falling in love with Southern Georgia.  Great place!

After the tour, we had a drink at a cafe that had outside seating and live music.  I, of course, had to have a mint julep.  After all, we are in the South!  We then walked around the town a bit until it was time for dinner.

Dinner at Lady and Son's: Well, it was not worth the wait and the fuss.  I had been anxious to go to her restaurant and have fried chicken.  The only way to have fried chicken is on the buffet.  The food was OK but nothing spectacular.  We all had the buffet and agreed....been there done that, don't need to go back.  We wished we would have gone to her brother's (Bubba's) restaurant for seafood or another recommended restaurant, Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room.  Next time.

Went back to the RV and got ready for the next day.  Tomorrow, John & Lynn are showing us around Savannah...on our BIKES!!  Can't wait.
