Where I stayed
Rick & Flo's Place
On September 6, we left Belleville, Michigan, and headed for Geneva, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland. We stayed at a real nice RV Park, Kenisee's Grand River Camp. We only stayed there one night. It was a beautiful large campground. When we got there, because it was Labor Day, a lot of people were taking their time leaving the sites. The campground people did a good job of accommodating us. They put us off in an old sales lot until our sites were available. We sat down, had lunch and our sites were available shortly thereafter. There was one more thing. We seemed to be the focus of attention. It appeared as if the people at the park were looking at us as we came in, set up and while in the site. We concluded two things. One, they were probably a lot of locals and they were not used to seeing outsiders. Two, every RV there was a trailer. We didn't see one other motor home. Interesting. After we were there a couple of hours, the novelty of us outsiders passed.
The next day, September 7, we arrived in Forestville, New York, at Rick & Flo's. They have a beautiful lot on a hill with a view of Lake Erie and Canada. There was plenty of room for all three Motor homes to spread out and set up.
After we all got set up, we went out on their porch to visit. Then Dave & Irene, friends of Rick and Flo's, drove up with some wine. But not just any wine. They had taken grapes from Rick & Flo's vines last year and Dave made them some wine from their own grapes. Cool!!!! It was delicious. It was even more special knowing it was from Rick & Flo's grapes.
Tomorrow we are going to check out things in the area.
