Today was our day to see Copenhagen. After breakfast we took the public bus to the waterfront and joined a Canal Tour. I guess one of the most surprising things to us was the bridges. There were so many of them and they were so low. Even though we could see the windshield of the boat clear the underside of the bridge, it was impossible not to duck. The tour guide was incredible. She conducted the tour in three languages, first Danish, then English and finally German. She moved from one language to the next effortlessly. We had been told the only way to really see the little mermaid was from the water. From land we would see only her back. I guess something has changed. Our guide told us her head has been stolen and recovered twice. They may have completely removed her for the repair and reoriented her because now she faces the land and the water, both at an angle. It was a great tour. After the canal tour we had lunch then boarded another bus for Tivoli Gardens. George rode the roller coaster and enjoyed it immensely although none of us have ever observed such a short ride. Start to finish was less then 60 seconds. After the ride we wandered through the park and then headed back to the hotel to get ready for our trip to Norway tomorrow.

Souveniers
I am SURE you can find me a fitting souvenier in Sweden or Denmark - surely you can fit one of those cute blonds in the suitcase and bring her back for me.
