The largest town on the west coast Greymouth was founded by the Maori people before the gold rush in the 1800's when westernized people moved in. with a large jagged coast line the magic bus stopped to allow us to walk part of it. the views were just breath taking. the west coast's main icon is Monteith's brewery, one of the oldest brewing companies in New Zealand. Their newest drink to be produced on the premises conveniently happens to be crushed apple cider our favourite. as part of the brewery tour we went out for a kiwi grill. yum yum in my tum.
