As a nice weekend break from my week of training in our Senegal office, I got the chance to visit Goree Island. Goree Island, also known as House of Slaves, used to be a be a slave island during European colonization from 1536 to 1815 (almost 300 years!). This was a tremendously humbling and enlightening experience.
