Our director, Pastor Issa, arranged for me to attend an evening worship service right before I went to the airport to return home.  This church is right by the airport and has used Bible League materials for 3 years and has had tremendous success with them.  During the service, many people stepped forward to share testimonies of how the BL materials impacted them.

They invited me to stand up and say a few words.  So I shared from Psalm 23 about how the Lord is always with us...he is our shepherd...even during difficulties.  The world may often make it seem that Jesus isn't with us or he is unaware or uninterested in our lives.  Yet, the promise of Psalm 23 is that his love and goodness are in pursuit of us all the days of our lives.  Even when life is tough.

It was a great time of fellowship with brothers and sisters in Niger.  Many of these people actually came from Togo.  The pastor himself was from Togo and felt called by God to plant this church in Niamey.  I'm always impressed and humbled by the incredible missionary spirit of African believers.  I have met many who are crossing great boundaries and enduring great risk and struggles in order to carry the gospel to others.  Its amazing.

From here, and on such a sweet note, I left for the airport to return to Chicago.
