Samos was basically just a transfer
point for us to get to Turkey from the Greek Islands. We had a 5
hour ferry trip from Mykonos and about half through the trip we
decided to try and sit in the business class area as it was pretty
much empty. We managed to just walk in there without anyone checking
our ticket so that made the journey a little more bearable. Andrew
and I had a little debate about how much a toasted cheese sandwich
would cost on the ferry as it was quite pricey for most things.
Andrew thought it would be expensive – his guess was 8 euros and he
said he didn't want one. So he was little sheepish when I can back
with my 1.60 euro toasted cheese sandwich. When we got to Samos we
organised our ferry ticket to Kusadasi for the next afternoon
straight away so we could have sleep in the next day. When we got
to the hotel there was wedding party happening in the restaurant,
turns out that it was hotel the owners daughter's wedding. There was
no plate smashing though, Andrew was bit disappointed. The next day
we woke up and it started raining, really raining. It rained so much
the street looked alike a river. So we waited around in the hotel a
for over an hour waiting for the rain to stop. Te hotel kitten kept
me amused for most of that. After the rain stopped we went to the
main square for breakfast and a walk. Managed to find some free wifi
so I could call mum and dad. After that we decided to head back to
the hotel and get our bags. Then it started raining again, just as
hard and despite having an umbrella we both got soaked. Thankfully
it stopped raining before we went back to the port to get on the
ferry.
