Today was my first glimpse of the beautiful Ecuadorian Andean scenery. Today we took a bus 2 hours southeast of Quito to Las Termas de Papallacta or natural hot spring pools high in the Andes. For the first time I could feel the altitude as we hiked up the road to the pools. There were 15 or so pools clustered about and ranging in temperature from warm to very hot! The pools were relaxing and were a nice retreat from Quito.
