No photos sorry...I left the DVD which had all my Rishikesh and Delhi photos on it in a computer in a faraway village! Damn it!

I'm pretty sure Rishikesh is the place to be if you're a hippy. Some people here seem to look like they arrived back when the Beatles were here writing the White Album....
We arrived in the spiritual town north of Delhi and checked into a room for 4 pounds a night with a breath-taking view. Lush forested hills ahead and the gushing waters of the holiest river in India - The Ganges, below.

We'd planned to meet up with Iain and Catherine - friends we made way back in China and Laos. However, Rishikesh, being a holy city, has no meat or alcohol so nstead of meeting for a beer and a hearty curry, we settled in a 'pure veg' restaurant for chai (tea) and thail (small veggie curries and rice)! The 'in' thing to participate in here is yoga, so on the first morning I trundled off to get in touch with my inner hippy and got flexible. Or so I tried! It was actually quite difficult but the next morning I convinced Sean to have a go too! He was a natural!

The town of Rishikesh appears to have a similar ratio of monkeys to people, or so it seems as your cross the impressive suspension bridge over the river. As well as yoha, Rishikesh is usually popular for white-water rafting but unfortunately we were a bit early for the season so should hopefully get chance to do it elsewhere.

We had a very chilled out  time here and it was a welcome detox of calm after the first few days in crazy Delhi!
