After an emotional embrace with mum and dad at Perth airport, Sean drove Trevor to our apartment in Freo; White Water Apartment. It was luxurious, spacious and a perfect location!
We didn't really have any set plans which was good because mum and dad had been on the go visiting the east coast cities. So, unfortunately (ha!) this meant we did lots of relaxing, eating and drinking.

We soon introduced mum and dad to our favourite pub/brewery, Little Creatures, which was conveniently our local now, just a short walk across the road to the boating harbour. We experienced the coffee culture on the cappucino strip too and ate blissful breakfasts and drank rich coffee!

Mum and I went on a wine tour one day which was briliant. With just a small group of us, Claude, our charming guide drove us to several boutique family-run wineries. Not only was the wine-a-flowing but we got to sample some local cheese and atea platter style lunch at Sitella's, which was a beautiful location. What a glorious day!

On the subject of wine tasting, on the weekend Dave and Karen (mum and dad's friends who now live in Perth) had planned for us all to stay in Yallinup, part of the famous Margaret River region. We settled into an unusually modern country retreat called Hi Clere and visited several wineries and breweries. The house was in a great place to spot absolutely loads of kangaroos which was good because mum and dad got to see the cute creatures! As well as trying locally produced alcohol, we ate out at a couple of delicious restaurants but also made the most of our accommodation by having bbqs and buffet teas!

On one of the days in back in Freo, Sean and dad went on a tunnels tour of the prison which took them twenty metres underground and they then paddled their way through tight-squeeze tunnels in canoes - definitely something a bit different!

Over the ten days mum and dad were here, we certainly had some laughs! It was brilliant to see them again and at least when we said bye at the airport this time we knew we wouldn't have to wait as long to see each other!
