Show trip route
Unfortunately it was a bit rainy for our 1st few days and our trip to Summer Bay (set of Home and Away) was a little bit of a wash out! But the girls who are huge fans of the show were pretty excited to get a picture by the famous beach - even in the rain! Unfortuantely no actors there that day - the rain must have put them off filming! The next day we visited the Harbour, did a bit of souvenir shopping then went for a guided tour of the Opera House which was really interesting
The following day we went to the theatre to see the Phantom of the Opera sequel - Love Never Dies. It was absolutely fantastic. The production was so amazing and the theatre just beautiful. Highly recommended to anyone planning a trip to the west end - or sydney!
The congress was brilliant and totally lived up to its reputation. The shows were out of this world, there was so much space to dance and I had the priveledge of dancing with some amazing dancers! The first night I went it alone as the few people I knew going were just there for the weekend. It was pretty daunting not knowing anyone but I ended up having a fantastic night some amazing dances and it all felt quite liberating! I was lucky to be able to go at all as that injury to my foot I mentioned in my Blue Mountains blog, turned out to be a small fracture. Luckily it was well aligned and mended quickly although I had an elephant foot for about a week!
I've been back at work a few days now after saying a sad goodbye to the girls. We had such a fantastic holiday and so nice to spend quality time together as the girls live in Leicester so we only ever see eachother for a day or so at a time when Im home
Since coming back I have started a new job which so far I am not loving but fortunately its only for another 7 weeks! Im basically doing all the evening on calls so I can be my own boss which is nice but its tough work. A job that should really be for 2 (or more) doctors not 1! I have to cover the whole hospital except ED and ICU on my own. Thats medicine, surgery, orthopaedics and even some paeds and gynae when their own doctors go home! To give you an idea of how much that involves, when I did medicine in the UK in a hospital a little bigger than Lismore, we had 4 doctors in the hospital at all times for medicine alone and were busy! But they are trying to change the rules and put 2 of us on for evenings so fingers crossed! Atleast I have a few years experience under my belt. When I'm not working, sometimes it is an intern doing the work alone. They are fresh out of uni and covering the whole hospital by themselves - madness. Anyway only 1 more shift to go until the weekend and I'm looking forward to seeing Wyn and Alaw. Wyn has been in Sydney as Alaw (his sister) arrived a few days back. Alaw is staying here for 2 weeks so really looking forward to that!
Thats all for now. Hundreds of photos to upload for last few blogs but it'll take forever so I'll do that another day!
