We went on a road trip with our friends Ky and Mitz to Manchester! Both were very familiar with the city and were able to show us the city, its sights, its nightlife and an all around great time. Manchester was actually a very nice city in our opinion and we were really glad we got to see it.
Ky mastered the entire drive with no help from any of us. Thank you Ky for keeping us safe! Remember the warnings "Tiredness can Kill" so if ever feeling drowsy, pull over!
We spent two full days and one night in Manchester. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that Avenue Q was playing at the Lyric theater while we were there. It was such a good show and we were so glad we got to see it, especially since it's not coming to London! Perfect timing! The walk back from the theater, along the Quays was beautiful as well.
Our night out in the city was great as well. Thanks to Ky and Mitz for pulling their strings and showing us a good time.
We also got to experience our first football (aka: soccer) game in a pub. And, apparently, a very good first one to experience. While in Manchester, both Man City and Man United were playing in some very important games. The entire city was overtaken with fans. Inside the pub was an experience we'll never forget. A grown man with blue nail polish, giving away blue sweets to his fellow fans. And when Man City won, the pub erupted in a sea of blue people jumping, screaming, crying, hugging and kissing. They were so proud and so excited. For us sports novices, this was the perfect way to experience "watching a game".
After a great evening we bid farewell to our trusty Manchester tour guide, Az, and made the long, late night drive back to the city where duty called on Monday morning.
