Steph came to visit me for a week. We spent the first couple of days in Incheon since I had a couple midterms and classes I had to go to. On Wednesday (she arrived on Sunday evening), we left Incheon and went to the East coast to a city called Sokcho. This is a city that is on the East Sea and many people stay in this city when they are visiting Seoraksan National Park, which is exactly what we did! We spent a day at the park, which is a mixture of mountains, valleys and waterfalls. We took two walking paths; one that led to a cave and one that led to a waterfall. The first was not just a walk...it was quite a climb! At points, there was no clear path, just rocks that you had to maneouver your way around. It was also quite steep (Vikki, if you read this...I thought of you and how you would hate it)! The cave was not quite what I had thought it was going to be. I pictured caves big enough for us to walk around in but this was just, litterally a hole in the wall (well, hole in the rock actually) and there were some mini buddhas and candles. Still, it was well worth the hike up just for the incredible view that we got! The second path wasn't that bad at all but the waterfall was not as impressive as the view we got from our hard work of climbing on the first path. All in all, it was a pretty physically demanding day but it was fun none the less.
