After being in the cowboy town of Juigalpa now for about a week (mas o menos) we have FINALLY found a house! the best part...it comes with furniture! Otherwise we were gonna live on pastic furniture, which, in this heat really isnt such a bad option.  But the house has nice furniture and the best part is a real kitchen so we dont have to eat out all the time! Ive already had my fill of rice and beans...and beef.
Last night we went to this place called ´´La embohada´´ which is known for its beef.  aparently you can ONLY order 3 lbs of beef.  We had to take a cab there because it is so off in the cutt that its almost impossible to find on your own.  The restaurant is somehouse house way back and its just a bunch of tables and they cook you up the beef, cuajada cheese, pickled onions and a huge tortilla.  I have NEVER liked cuajada cheese, it has always been the one thing about latin america that ive never enjoyed and avoided, but this cuajada was SO good! it was amazing.  I tried some today at another place in hopes of maybe the cuajada in Nica being mas bueno que en otros partes, but no suerte, it was gross :( But the BEEF was amazing! I had a beef hangover all day from it though.
Anyways, Juigalpa is a great city, lots of cowboys, good food (even though im sick of it already) and really outgoing friendly people.  The weather is either hot and muggy, or rainy and muggy, sounds great dont it?! What it lacks for in weather it makes up for in...beef! ha! Im taking a few days off from meat after that meal though...my body is craving the veggies! Tomorrow I get to go visit some communities which will be great.  Get to meet some people the volunteers will be living with.
