Havana’s Harbor, February 17, 1898. The USS Maine was sunk due to two explosions and caused the death of 252 men on board. Our Government immediately blamed Spain for the sinking of the ship, President McKinley declared War with Spain. We declared War with a country and blamed them for something we weren't sure about yet. It ends up the USS Maine sank due to explosions that took place on board, they were never attacked. Presidents need to take their time and be sure about things before making a decision.
