So we left our cute little cabin in the woods, grabbed some delicious oatmeal and souvenirs from the gift shop, and headed out for our scenic drive through King's Canyon. Again, very windy, and kind of sketchy at times with cliffs and no guardrails, but absolutely beautiful. It took about 45 minutes to get down to the bottom, and the last 10 or so miles ran next to the King’s River; cold, gorgeous, and full of rapids and boulders. We wanted to try to catch a quick cave tour, but it wasn’t open when we drove past. We drove back up, part of the way behind a bus that didn’t know how to stay on our side of the road, and then headed out of Sequoia. Today was a really long drive to Klamath Falls, about 9 hours. Vanessa was a trooper and drove most of the way. Nothing really exciting on the road, except for Mount Shasta, which is near the California/Oregon border. So, as of today, I have officially left California…sigh. We got to the Super 9 Motel in Klamath, ordered some Chinese food, and we are sitting around like bums. Tomorrow morning we are getting up early to drive to Crater Lake National Park (the only one in Oregon, which is strange because the entire state is so pretty!) and take a boat tour down on the lake. I’m stoked! I’ll post some pictures when I am in Portland, when I’m not totally exhausted. G’night!
