After 11 Days of Big Cities, such as New York and Washington DC.  From climbing the Statue of Liberty, walking up the Washington Monument, to the Noise and power of the Nascar race, we have covered a massive amount in a short time.

So today we collected the Hire Car, unfortunately they couldn't let us have a Mazda 6, or a Nissan, instead they offered a Toyota, and I refuse to drive Toyota's given the problems they have had in the States,   So we have a Ford Fusion (same as a Mondeo really).  Its very nice.

We left Charlotte, in the rain and for much of the Journey to Myrtle Beach, we went through torrential rain storms, at times, even the fastest Wiper setting couldn't clear it.  The rain stopped for us to visit South of the Border.

Its really difficult to explain South of the Border.  Its a service Station, which is just in South Carolina, on the border with North Carolina.  Its in a Mexican theme, and its main 'selling' point is the massive Tower which overlooks the Carolina's.  Think its safe to say that its probably seen the best of its days.  I suspect in the 50's traveling through on the long roads, it would have been amazing.

We traveled into Myrtle Beach, and back to the Springmaid, which we stayed at last November, the Hotel has had a bit of a spruce up in the last few months, we walked along its pier again and played crazy golf,  Today we are going back to Myrtle Beach Boardwalk - for a slower paced day.

A Few pictures from yesterday.

Lots Love Les & Caroline xxx
