Hi All,

Today has been the first day of the road trip, the day started off with a trip back to the airport to collect the Hire Car.  Car Hire check in was really quick, however, once at the Car pound, it then went slightly wrong,

Car 1 wasn't in the space and instead was a Kia with no GPS,
Car 2 (which was our car) was smashed up at the entrance.
Car 3 was a Toyota Corolla (which is twice the size of the UK Car) - and are horrible cars.
Car 4 was a Pontiac G6 which I said I would take but they then found,
Car 5 which had done 48000 miles and had a flat battery.

Now nearly an Hour in the Hertz Compound - we were finally issued:

Car 6 with Only 3400 miles on the Clock and a 2010 Mazda 6.  Finally we left I think they were pleased to see the back of me.

First stop after driving out of Atlanta, was Cornelia, a small town about 60 miles from Cherokee, which has one of the worlds largest Apples.  After wandering around we went to Tallulah Falls where a famous tightrope walker crossed in 1970, filmed apparently by the BBC.  Sorry I wasn't born so can't tell you how it went.

Finally we headed off to Cherokee to check in to the hotel. Today we are off to Great Smoky National Park.  Some pictures from the day including Mazzie 5.

Lots of Love Les & Caroline xx
