We left Sedona and traveled to Lake Havasu City.  It reached 70 degrees today and we are really enjoying the weather.  Lake Havasu is home to the London Bridge and I will put an interesting story about it at the end of this post.  After we arrived we found out that we just happened to come to Lake Havasu at the time of the Balloon Festival.  It is hard to explain how amazing it is to be right next to the balloons going up in the air.  So we enjoyed some Nevada Pale Ale, Thai chicken, and hot air balloons all at once.  Good fun.
Now here is the story - London Bridge is a bridge in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, United States, that is the reconstruction of the 1831 London Bridge that spanned the River Thames in London, England until it was dismantled in 1967. The Arizona bridge is a reinforced concrete structure clad in the original masonry of the 1830s bridge, that was bought by Robert P. McCulloch from the City of London. McCulloch had exterior granite blocks from the original bridge numbered and transported to America, to construct the present bridge in Lake Havasu City, a planned community he established in 1964 on the shore of Lake Havasu. The bridge was completed in 1971 (along with a canal), and links an island in the lake with the main part of Lake Havasu City.

Pretty cool.

I have to say that the balloon pics are great but my overall favorite is the bridge...right lighting and angle--truly nice job. Having been to a balloon fest...I know how nice they are and the colors make for awesome photos. Mine was in 1984 and I actually made a slide show of it....Thanks for all the work you do posting these blogs....much appreciated1
