Where I stayed
YAY!! The plane didn't go down in a fireball like I was expecting- Christ I hate flying. Fortunatley the Serapax kept me (relatively) calm. We were a little late flying out from Sydney (they couldn't get one of the engines started!!), but managed to arrive in San Fran early. Side note- why do pilots tell you things like "we can't get one of the engines started"? Why don't they sugar coat it and blame delays on weather or something??
When we arrived we went straight to the Hotel Morris, which was very comfy and lush and located in the heart of the city. Then off we went to peruse the shops.
We caught a trolley up to the Castro (which is a bigger, cleaner, and less attitude-y version of Sydneys' Oxford street), and bought the most amazing pair of shoes. Having already overshot the budget, we walked back in to town.
Had dinner at a place called Dennys, which serves HUGE amounts of food for cheap (even their "mini burgers" can only be ordered in multiples of 6!!). I'm leaving the "tipping" thing up to Lawrie, because I'm not sure how much is too much or too little to give someone for a tip.
Then it was off to bed.
