So unlike all my other entries, this comes to you from a rather unusual place. I'm currently writing to you from my 1.5ft of designated space on board US airways flight bound for Memphis, Tennessee. In flight wifi has just become one oft new favourite things, and has made heightened this particular flying experience. Also unlike my last flight, I have the two loveliest people sitting next to me - no seat spillers, no animalistic public displays of affection... Loving life.

Over the duration of the trip, I've been really lucky to meet some really top heads. I was scared that I would be over here for a really long time and get really lonely but I've met a top bunch of new people who have shown me the city, the nightlife and some really great places to eat. Megan, Omar, Dawn and co... You guys are awesome!

Right now, I'm about 3.5 hours into my flight to Charlotte, where I will change planes and head to Tennessee. Very much looking forward landing in Memphis as I will be awaited by my good mate Evan, who I haven't seen for nearly 3 years.

Last week or so has been insane. It was sad to leave LA behind but at least it went out in style in true LA fashion.
Spent one of the last days with family at Six Flags, Magic Mountain. Yep, more rollercoasters. It was so hot. My body was in shock. After a good couple of months of my body telling itself "ok, time to put on some insulation, it's getting cold"... I've immediately thrown myself into 30degree plus heats. My body pretty much was screaming "holy crap this insulation is not such a good idea after all" - sorry for not giving you the heads up body.
However a real highlight of the day was meeting Jon Heder who plays Napolean Dynamite at one of the rollercoasters. Really top bloke - super nice and really keen to have a casual chat. That hour and a bit wait in the scorching heat.:: suddenly became worth it. It really did top off a great week in LA.

The 11 hour train ride back to San Francisco though... Wasn't as big of a highlight. I mean, seats were comfy and all, but it the whole 10hours thing was a bit much. Nothing a hotdog couldnt fix. First week, it was 8 cheeseburgers in 6 days before I got sick of them. Let's see how long it will take Fat Lauren to get over hotdogs...

Spent yesterday on the lovely Santa Cruz Boardwalk with a couple of familiar Aussie faces (Kat and Caitlin)and some new friends (Omar and Braydon). What started out as an overcast and slightly off looking day turned out to be a gloriously beautiful day. It was hot, with a slight breeze which really made for a great day on the beach. Like Santa Monica there is a theme park sort of thing on the boardwalk with rollercoaster and rides, games, junk food and what not. So the day was spent lazing on the beach, exploring the fair, eating and a couple of cheeky beverages. Perfection.

Well, looking forward to some more great adventures, and some more stories for you :)

Let the good times roll!
