When she said she had a husband and was a grandmother our umbrella & chaise guy finally stopped hitting on D.
We went back to the hotel and cooled off in the pool since the ocean was too warm. Then headed out to dinner and got caught in a downpour.
Today we got up before the park opened at 7 and bought our tickets but one of us was a little slow in getting her act together and we didn't actually go in until 8
Manuel Antonio park shares a fence with our hotel..It's about 50yds from gate to gate. As we wait for Rach a guide named Michael offers his services...guide services. We go for it. Like all the guides he has a big scope on a tripod.
We hit the trail through the jungle and see sloths, monkeys, crabs (on trees?!?), a deer (named maria), spiders, a snake...amazing...not many birds, though. Eventually we get to a perfect little white sand beach. We hang out and wait for monkeys, but no sign. We head down the trail along several more lovely beaches and back to the main beach.
It's very hot and humid... D & I hit a cafe for food and Rach goes back to the room for leftovers (we have a frig & a microwave). A woman who promised to bring Rach some purses finds us and gives us 2 purses to take to the hotel for Rach to look at & she'l meet us there in a while.
Back at the hotel Rach loves one of the purses and as I head to the hotel gate the vendor shows up and is thrilled for the sale. She gives Rach a hug and heads off.
We hang by the pool...check out the hot guys coming &.going and relax. Later Rach and I go to Quepos (nearest town) and cruise the very few shops. We find a jewelry maker who has some amazing stuff. I buy some earrings & necklace. We stop for a cold drink, then head back, stopping at some stalls where Rach finishes her gift buying.
Back at the hotel we wait for D to finish her book then head out for our last night's dinner.
