We started out Day 2 of our adventure with a walk along Rockaway Beach where I intended to gather shells for the kids but was surprised to find that not many shells washed up along the beach...but we hit the motherload of cool-lookin rocks. The weather was about 10 degrees warmer than the forecasts had predicted...we were lucky to not have to deal with any rain at all...just some blustery winds.
After our stop at the beach we travelled about 15 minutes southward on 101 to Tillamook...where we grabbed some breakfast, filled up the gastank, and stopped by Tillamook Cheese for a tour of the factory and to taste some of the delicious samples. I bought some garlic chili pepper cheddar from the gift shop and we stopped by the ice cream counter where I got a Mountain Huckleberry cone and Tom tried Marionberry Pie...some of THE best ice cream EVER!
